BANDCAMP IS WAIVING THEIR REVENUE SHARE TODAYSpinda Records
The Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact our lives, including underground music with most of the shows directly cancelled which impact drastically on album sales. With such a major revenue stream drying up almost entirely, finding ways to continue supporting underground artists and record labels is an urgent priority for anyone who cares about music.
On 20th March, Bandcamp waived their revenue share in order to help artists and labels impacted by the pandemic. The result was fucking amazing, with the Bandcamp community spending $4.3 million on music and merch – 15x the amount of a normal Friday – helping artists and labels cover rents, mortgages, groceries, bills, medications, and so much more. It was simply pretty inspiring.
But the pandemic and its impact on the music industry aren’t over, so on 1st May, 5th June and 3rd July (first Friday of each month), Bandcamp is waiving their revenue share for all sales on Bandcamp, from midnight to midnight PDT (from 9am to 9am Spanish Time) on each day.
Musicians and labels will continue to feel the effects of the pandemic, so if you’re lucky enough to be in a position to spare some cash and want to give Spinda Records a hand, please feel free to buy music and merchandising directly from our Bandcamp as the money will go 100% to us within 24-48 hours. This is the best way to support us these days.SUPPORT SPINDA RECORDS ON BANDCAMP
